On the Peninsula Valdes we go for our first off-road experience in SA.

The peninsula is a nature reserve. Then you think of "the Kalmthoutse Heide" or something? Not so, to get there you drive from the nearest town for over 100 km to the only village on the island.

We camp there the next day and so we can get our motors tested without luggage. The first kilometers off-road I leave Johan and the GS behind me, for them it is their first gravel experience. Soon, however, they have the technique (go with the "flow") and the rest of the day we go hand in hand. We do 230 km, of which about half wasboard-road! That means right on the footsteps and just let's go!

We take the occasional break to admire the sea lions. We await the Orcas, but today they are not of the party. Too bad! But then on to the penguins, llamas and armadillos.

On Saturday we drive to Gaiman, where we have a few real Welsh Tea housses find.

After an extensive afternoon tea we decide to drive to Comodore Rivadavia. About 400 km away.

Wah, we ride through the pampas to the sunset law. A color palette of red, purple, blue and white in the sky and the road as a billiard table directly at the sun! Just beautiful, unfortunately no pictures because stopping on this 2 way-road is to dangerous! You can go "110", but often the cars and trucks roar past us. We sometimes can not exceed 80 km without to be blown by the crosswinds! Eventually we drove quite a bit in the dark and end up at half past eleven on a somewhat obscure campsite. Tomorrow we visit friends in Comodore.
