In Punta Arenas we get to see a sample of hospitality! On arrival there we hosed off our bikes in a carwash, they have caught sea salt and we want to wash is off as soon as possible. There we meet Elvis, a Chilean who is very interested in our journey. Quite unexpectedly he appears in the evening at our camp, with his wife, daughter and a bottle of good wine!
the next day he invites us to dinner. We enjoy a lovely warm cozy evening at home. Thanks!
When we leave the next day, we stop a moment at the firehouse. The volunteer corps is here greatly assisted by French fire brigades and the NGO Pompiers sans Frontiers.
The rit to Punta Natales is cold & wet, but at the end we arrive dry at the campsite and the next day we are able to enjoy a lovely sunny sunday.
